Dr. Wanqing Shen is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Lille, France. He investigates the relationship between the microstructures and the macroscopic mechanical behaviors of heterogeneous materials by theoretical and numerical methods, also the applications of artificial intelligence in geomaterials. A series of original micromechanics-based multiscale models has been constructed and widely applied to various engineering fields such as petroleum industry, geological disposal of nuclear waste. He is the author and co-author of 95 papers in peer-reviewed SCI journal papers, including 5 articles as sole author. He obtained the Prize of Excellent Scientific Research and Supervision (Prime d'Encadrement Doctoral et de Recherche) in 2017 and 2021, which is evaluated by the National Council of Universities (CNU) of France and the Chinese Government Award For Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad in 2011.
