2026 CHINA ROCK
SESSION 18: Intelligent Control for Deep Earth, Disaster Prevention for the Future—Frontiers and Intelligent Technologies in Deep Resource Engineering

Date: 20-23 November, 2026
Venue: Chengdu, China
The 23rd China Rock Mechanics and Engineering Annual Academic Conference, themed "Enhancing Resilience of Major Rock Engineering in Extreme Environments", continues to uphold the reform direction of “internationalization, scaling-up, and integration” in academic meetings. Through a three-tier venue structure comprising a main session, parallel sessions, and satellite meetings, it serves students and early career members in rock mechanics and engineering-related disciplines, enabling academic insights to transcend geographical boundaries and fostering interconnected exchange, thus promoting vibrant academic exchange and high-quality industrial development.
Deep resource engineering is a critical field that addresses major national strategic demands of the country. It involves the development of deep energy and mineral resources, underground space utilization, and disaster prevention and control, covering core aspects such as geological exploration, mining design, surrounding rock control, intelligent monitoring, and safe operation and maintenance. It holds significant scientific importance and engineering application value.
To promote the exchange and cooperation of cutting-edge achievements in deep resource engineering, explore the innovative applications of intelligent technologies in deep underground engineering, overcome the common challenges in deep disaster prevention and efficient resource development, and jointly promote the integrated development of deep resource engineering and intelligent technologies, the Deep Resources Engineering of Northeastern University is organizing a special session at this annual conference entitled: Intelligent Control for Deep Earth, Disaster Prevention for the Future—Frontiers and Intelligent Technologies in Deep Resource Engineering.
We sincerely invite experts, scholars, teachers and graduate students engaged in deep resource engineering, rock mechanics, intelligent monitoring, disaster prevention and control, and related fields to attend the conference, present your research in the special session, and share your innovative achievements.
Topics:
• Intelligent Characterization and Constitutive Modeling of Deep Rock Mechanics
