Prof. David Alexander is the current Programme Leader of the Energy Systems Engineering Unit at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) since 2014. He is also a consultant in the areas of Energy and the Environment, having worked on several projects in the region. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Petroleum Engineering from the University of the West Indies, an M.Sc. in Information and Communication Technology with specialization in Software Engineering from UTT, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in the field of Petroleum Engineering from UTT in collaboration with the University of Texas at Austin. Prof. Alexander currently leads research in the areas of Enhanced Oil Recovery, Carbon Capture and Storage, and Waste Management, among other areas. He has over 50 publications, with over 30 published in international journals.
