Dr. Wanquan Mei received his Ph.D. degree at the school of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Wuhan University of technology, Wuhan, China. His research interests are in the dynamic response of deep rock, rock damage mechanics, wave propagation, blasting, and tunneling. He develops dynamic version of Cellular Automata Software for engineering Rockmass fracturing process (CASRock), focusing on the application of advanced theoretical and numerical methods to investigate the dynamic response of surrounding rock. He published more than 20 technical papers in Computers and Geotechnics, Tunneling and Underground Space Technology, Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, International Journal of Geomechanics, Geophysical Journal International, etc.
