2026 International Symposium on Deep Resources Engineering (FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT)

As shallow mineral resources become increasingly depleted, exploring deep Earth resources has become an inevitable strategic direction for the global mining industry. Deep resource engineering faces extreme challenges characterized by high in-situ stress, high temperature, and high pore pressure, necessitating systematic breakthroughs in exploration theory, intelligent mining, green environmental protection, and deep energy development.
To deepen international academic exchange and collaboration in the field of deep resources engineering, promote green, intelligent, and sustainable development concepts, and showcase the latest research achievements and technological applications, the 2026 International Symposium on Deep Resources Engineering will be held from November 14 to 16, 2026, at the International Academic Exchange Center of Northeastern University, Shenyang, China. The symposium is hosted by Northeastern University and the Nonferrous Metals Society of China, and organized by the State Key Laboratory of Intelligent Mining and Equipment for Deep Metal Mines and the Editorial Office of Deep Resources Engineering Journal.
The symposium will bring together distinguished scholars, industry technical leaders, early-career researchers, and government representatives from around the world to engage in in-depth discussions on frontier topics including deep exploration, intelligent mining, green mining, and deep energy development. The third Editorial Board Meeting of Deep Resources Engineering Journal will be convened concurrently to deliberate on strategies for journal development and internationalization.
